Yamaguchi

October 23 - 29, 2024

After The New York Times named Yamaguchi City one of the “52 Places to Go in 2024,” we knew it was time to explore!

Our tour took us deep into the heart of Yamaguchi Prefecture, where history, culture, and cuisine come together beautifully.

We explored iconic sites tied to Japan’s Meiji Restoration, including Shokasonjuku Academy and the charming Hagi Castle Town, where samurai once strolled through the streets.

But it wasn’t just the sightseeing that stood out…

We soaked in the relaxing Onsen of Yuda Onsen Town, stayed at the storied Hagihonjin Ryokan, and tasted Yamaguchi’s famous cuisines and fugu (blowfish) dishes — a true culinary adventure!

Of course, we didn’t leave empty-handed:

-Hagi-yaki pottery, local sake, Shiso Wakame furikake (a beloved rice topping in Japan!)

It was a magical week of nature, history, hot springs, and unforgettable memories.
